Following a major landslide on the TRV link road, a slope stabilisation solution was required.

Slope stabilsation at terre rouge-verdun in maritius

The project

TRV Link road is a double carriageway of 24.2 Km long, linking the North to the Centre of Mauritius and was built through mountain-slope cuts which involved significant earthworks, in order of 2.1 million m³. After the earthworks operation, a major landslide occurred over an area of 160m long x 10m high. We were appointed to carry out a Design and Build Slope Stabilisation Solution for this Project.

The challenge

Daily co-ordination meeting and planning with the Main contractor to ensure that access and sufficient working platforms were created and made available so that the drilling and guniting works would not be compromised.

The solution

Working platforms were created especially for this project.

The scope of works entailed the installation of 2 200m² of gunite wall, supported with 225 No. permanent anchors.
